Nature Workshops meets Rothschild and Bank of America Merril Lynch

nature workshops gets the message across

With wooden triangles for each delegate, to represent the triple bottom line*, Nature Workshops made sure no one forgot about this little Social Enterprise from the far south west. In others words Jane was in terrier mode and made sure she met EVERY delegate! The event was to encourage some of the largest best known companies to contract with at least 5 social enterprises in a working year: 250 days and the campaign is being orgainzed by the Social Enterpirse Mark-Trading for People and Planet. The event took place at breakfast time at the Guildhall in London on Tuesday 21st Nvember 2011 and the delegates she met and chatted to included Rothschild, Bank of America Merril Lynch, Lloyds, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, KPMG, Wragge, Bouygues, Deloitte and Network Rail. The event was hosted by the City of London who have already engaged with at least 5 social enterprises this year for example the event was organized by Sensevents and the catering supplied by cafesunlight.

It was also really great to meet with other social enterprises and hope to be working with some of them in the future.

Check out #50in250 to see how much twittering this has provoked; a veritable bird song!

Incidentally we wouldn’t have gone except for a kind offer of the coach ticket from Freecycle coincidentally for exactly the right times. Lets hope it was an omen!

*Triple Bottom Line is what’s been earned as per all businesses but also the social and the environmental impacts which is what all social enterprises are about.
