FOREST SCHOOL TRAINING
I wanted to pass on the magic that can happen when small groups of people gather together to cook on a camp-fire, tell stories, play games, share knowledge and make useful and beautiful things from natural materials.” Sally, Level 3 Learner.

Our 12-month Level 3 training programme starts with a set practical training days in carefully selected woodland. These training days are delivered by an expert Forest School practitioner and designed to hone the key skills required to give you a flying-start on your portfolio. Over the course of your learning journey with us you will also benefit from:
– Dedicated mentor support from an experienced Forest School Leader close to where you live, there to support you throughout your twelve-month training.
-Free membership of the Forest School Association.
-Networking opportunities via our regular Skill-shares featuring visiting Forest School and woodworking experts.
-Help securing local volunteer placements where you can practise your skills and connect with your local Forest School community.
As each of our learners is different, so we have developed two different training pathways. Regardless of where you are based or your other commitments, you can choose a programme that suits you.
Spend five days in a lovely woodland near the Eden Project. With accommodation on site (at an additional cost) dates include half terms and term time options.
Our two and half days of practical sessions allow you to start your training at a time that’s convenient for you with the option of a further 2 and half days at the end of your course to recognize how far you have travelled in your learning.
We are currently planning and developing online distance learning to include teaming you up with the best practitioners in your area, wherever you live. Thus the process of your training helps to embed your practise in your community.
We run the training as a ‘roll on roll off’ process with dates to suit you in your area. Get in touch with one of our training advisers using the contact form below and you can start your training today.
If you’d like more detailed information about the course and what will be expected from you please take a look at our FS L3 learning Outcomes.
“The next adventure starts now. I will be finishing my qualification very soon and whilst I am busy collating all the coursework and evidence, the reality of what I have achieved over the past 12 months really sinks in. Amazing experiences, skills, friends, confidence and knowledge, inspiration and above all, my own new business where I get to inspire others in the great outdoors all day, every day!” Charlotte, Level 3 Learner.

Free Training Taster Sessions:
We think our training is amoung the best, but don’t just take our word for it. Why not book on to one of our FREE training taster sessions held at beautiful woodland locations in Cornwall and Devon (and coming soon to Somerset!).
Informal, fun and hand’s-on, taster events give you the chance to have a go at some of the activities that typically feature during a outdoor session. We provide a tasty hot meal around the fire, which we think is the perfect setting for you to talk through anything that comes to mind about becoming a outdoor practitioner with us.
We are committed to making sure our training is accessible to as many people as possible, which is why in addition to flexible course dates we try hard to offer learners as many ways to pay for the course as we can.
Typically, we can offer you interest free facilities to pay off just over half of the course fee in one lump sum, upfront, with the rest of the monies being billed at regular intervals from months 5 to 11 of your course*. Please contact our Office if you wish to discuss this as a potential way forward.
(* please note that this arrangement does not cover the cost of your Outdoor First Aid qualification)
