Plants for Health and Medicine

With over 25 years experience in ethnobotany we run sessions to suit anyone who want to find out more about natures wonderful medicine cabinet using permaculture principles. For example lavender oil can be used for burns and dandelion leaves help liver function. Recently for example we have been running bespoke sessions at a local day centre for people with mental health difficulties. Initially based in the centre using the kitchen and the garden we are going out more and finding being outdoors looking at and talking about plants together is a great way to learn. We are also learning about how to grow medicinal plants and how useful they can be as companion plants in any garden. Future sessions will be in woods and on beaches improving confidence and independence.

Feedback comments have been:

‘I really enjoyed it! There was much laughter and lightheartedness. We would love to have this on a regular basis.’

‘The session more than met my expectation’ it was very interesting’

‘Very enjoyable, informative and fascinating. The session leader is personable, passionate and knowledgeable’
