Young people empowerment and learning
This summer we introduce our Rites project. These week long camps will move you from child to adult as learning to live with nature will allow you to face your fears and discover your strengths. These courses will be run in Cornwall for 15 year olds before they start their GCSE year. Please register your interest by sending us an email. More details will follow soon here.
We have experience of working with mainstream young people, also young people recovering from the impacts of domestic and other forms of abuse plus young people with various communication and behavioural issues such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia and dyspraxia. We have found our interactive process to be effective in improving self esteem and confidence which then leads to better behaviour and well being. This includes collectively setting physical and behavioural boundaries, deciding the content of sessions, constant reflection and reiteration in a classroom with no walls with the freedom to express themselves physically and emotionally. We can prove the efficacy of the work both quantitatively and qualitatively.
We are thrilled to anounce new services delivering specifically with young people offering sessions in nature to explore and adventure learning new skills relating to being outdoors such as using tools and making fires. Also help with improving learning of numeracy and literacy, personal development and communication. All leading to accredited training with us, with possible volunteer opportunities including helping us to improve what we offer to young people in the future. We have secured funding from West Cornwall Youth Trust which we plan to match to allow us to run these services for young people across Cornwall.
